Advancing Population Health Through Medically Integrated Fitness
On Thanksgiving Day in 1940, a 25-bed Community Hospital opened in St.
Charles, Illinois. Today, Community Hospital is the 149-bed Northwestern
Medicine Delnor Hospital in Geneva, Illinois. In 1995, forward-thinking leadership recommended development of the Delnor Health & Fitness Center (Center), a 60,000-square-foot medically integrated fitness center to improve population health.

Today, Wellness Centers like Delnor are not uncommon on hospital campuses, and their benefit in population health management and value-based care is becoming better understood. Power Wellness has appreciated multiple contract renewals with Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital since opening the Center in 1996, a testament to the importance of a strategic and collaborative approach to fitness center operations, as well as the importance of medically integrated fitness.
