In 2009, Colonie Youth asked Power Wellness to manage the Rudy A. Ciccotti Fitness Center. Based on Power Wellness’ track record of success in improving center performance through the application of proven management methods. Colonie Youth believed that a partnership with Power Wellness would transition the center into a thriving facility.

Power Wellness performed an in-depth center assessment and benchmark analysis to discover all possible areas of improvement in programming, membership volume and fiscal health.
A hallmark of Power’s success is working with existing members to determine what is important at the center, honoring the feedback while incorporating new and successful tactics to achieve strong center morale and improve operational efficiencies.
To more effectively manage revenue and expenditures, business systems software was installed utilizing experts within the Power Wellness information systems, accounting and operations teams to migrate current member data, train the on–site team, manage point of sale (POS) and use electronic fund transfer (EFT) for membership dues.
A Facility assessment indicated an opportunity to better utilize current center space and right size space size to services. This included free childcare, the addition of a mind-body studio and massage therapy room. Over time, additional features were added including a large, private fitness testing office and dedicated cycling studio. A five year capital facility plan was developed to predict future facility needs.
Membership Revenue Increased 19%
This was achieved by the provision of degreed and certified fitness staff, personal trainers and group exercise instructors implemented well-developed, medically integrated programs such as Pulmonary Fitness, Cardiac Fitness and Orthopedic Fitness as well as group exercise programming on land and in the water. As a result, the Rudy A. Ciccotti Fitness Center has increased their membership and established financial stability.
