ProHealth West Wood Health & Fitness Center has achieved Medical Fitness Facility certification by the Medical Fitness Association (MFA), the country’s leading organization dedicated solely to medically integrated wellness and fitness facilities.
The medical fitness facility certification ensures that West Wood will focus on credible prevention and rehabilitation programs that will improve the health and wellness of individuals in Pewaukee and surrounding communities. Plus, the facility will feature the professional expertise and programming to safely and effectively assist people, regardless of their current health status, to develop, initiate and maintain an active lifestyle that minimizes the risk of illness and disease and promotes health and wellness.
“We are honored to provide our members with the highest level of commitment in education, operational standards, customer service, and emergency preparedness. Being the very first certified center in the State of Wisconsin is quite an accomplishment. I am truly proud of the collaboration and efforts of the team here at West Wood. This further validates us as a top-tier Medical Fitness Facility.” Matt Hanks, M.S., CSCS | Operations Manager
This certification is a significant step forward in the health of the entire community and to individuals taking responsibility for their personal health.
A number of key factors distinguish certified medical fitness centers, including:
- Active and regular medical oversight
- Certified and licensed staff
- Written policies and procedures concerning user safety and emergency response
- Disease management and prevention programs
- Health-risk reduction and therapeutic-lifestyle programs
- Individualized health screening
- Testing and outcome tracking
- Quality management, with a focus on measurable results
- A focus on improving community health
“As the incidence of chronic disease continues to rise, the need for medical fitness facilities to offer a high standard of programming for the communities they serve is more important than ever,” said Mr. Flench, FACHE, FMFA, President and CEO of the Medical Fitness Association.
