Special Population Fitness Programming Drives Center Growth

November 11, 2021

Regular exercise is a proven supplemental therapy for the 50% of Americans living with chronic conditions such as diabetes, obesity, or heart disease. Unfortunately, commercial fitness centers generally do not provide fitness programming designed to address these conditions, or debilitating diseases such as Parkinson’s and Multiple Sclerosis. Special Population Programming encourages physical activity in a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment. Properly structured programs offer a unique combination of exercise and education, helping position your center as a wellness resource for all community members.

Special Populations Programs engage your center’s members, connecting people whose shared experience builds community. Program participants are known to travel farther than commercial fitness members to experience these unique programs, and positively promote the center: “We have also visited the support groups that [Special Populations Program participants] attend in the area to talk about the benefits of exercise and to talk about options at our facility,” says Emily Jamroz, Fitness Manager at the Orland Park Health & Fitness Center, in Orland Park Illinois, a Power Wellness managed center since 2017.

Power Wellness managed centers are particularly focused on at-risk, deconditioned people that benefit from Special Populations Programming. Contact us to learn more.
