Congratulations to the recipients of the 2020 Medical Fitness Association (MFA) awards. These awards celebrate and honor the best and the brightest in medical fitness center management. Awards, in a variety of categories, identify those facilities, programs and individuals that are deserving of recognition for their achievements.

 

 

Marla Richmond Education Award: Chris Sutton – Power Wellness
This award is presented to an individual who has been recognized as an exceptional educator. Chris has shown significant dedication to the medical fitness industry. He delivers innovative, accurate and accessible exercise science, fitness and wellness information to patients, clients, community and members by means of original or unique written materials or programming.

Professional of the Year Award: Angela Sargeant – Dexter Wellness Center, Power Wellness
This award is given to an individual who has displayed significant achievements as administrator or facility director. Angela is an exceptional executive who has significantly advanced the welfare of her facility, company and community.

South East Region Rising Star: Laura Milner – Piedmont Wellness Center – Fayetteville, Power Wellness
The Regional Rising Star Award program recognizes outstanding individual achievement and significant leadership within the medical fitness community. Laura continues to exceed performance expectations and demonstrates exemplary interest in medical fitness profession and clients.

1st Place Program Innovation Award: The Forest Park Diabetes Management Program – Dr. Stephen Wilson, Mercy-Downtown Healthplex, Power Wellness
Awarded to facility or to an individual who has designed the most innovative program. The Forest Park Diabetes Management Program provides a needed service that benefits the membership or the community at large.
