Maximizing Medical Fitness Center Impact with EHR Integration

August 08, 2022

Integrating a health system’s electronic health records (EHR) system at a medically integrated fitness center is key to supporting outpatient care options. This integration is often challenging at best, given varying EHR systems, privacy concerns, and general complexity.

Recognizing a technology gap, Power Wellness developed power-link, an EHR-agnostic platform that provides a HIPAA-compliant data exchange between a healthcare system’s EHR and its fitness center’s member management system. Providers use power-link to efficiently refer patients into medical fitness programs, while patient fitness data can be uploaded as part of their EHR. This helps ensure provider and patient program compliance and shared health outcomes.

ProHealth West Wood Health & Fitness Center is the most recent Power Wellness managed center to complete the power-link integration. Located in Pewaukee, Wisconsin, the 85,000 sq. ft. outpatient facility offers programs and amenities for all fitness levels. One of these programs is MyFitRx®, which includes 8-week prescriptive fitness pathways for participants with chronic conditions or preparing for a life event. Power-link ensures that participant’s fitness data is securely stored, evaluated, and shared to improve their health outcomes
